The Windom School District has reported a positive case of Covid-19 for a Staff member at the Windom Elementary School.
A lab-confirmed case took place in a staff member. That person was at school with possible exposure on October 29th. The individual has been advised to stay home and isolate. The school administration and nurses have worked with the State Department of Health and local public health officials to complete all contact tracing, and people who had close contact with the infected person have been notified.
Families should continue to monitor for any symptoms of illness. If symptoms do develop, stay home and contact your local health-care provider.
The school remains in communication with public health officials and all protocols have been followed. Windom will continue with its current learning model, with all students attending class in person with social distancing and classrooms at 50% capacity.
The Windom School district has updated its covid-19 information. Of 1,098 students, there have been five positive cases of covid-19. There are no active cases at this time. Of 212 staff members, there have been two positive cases, with one active case at this time.
