A REGULAR MEETING OF THE MT LAKE CITY COUNCIL WAS HELD LAST WEEK.     THERE WAS A PRESENTATION BY A NEW HEALTH-CARE AGENCY THAT WILL BE OPENING AN OFFICE IN MT LAKE.  ORGANIZATIONAL BUSINESS WAS HANDLED.  THE CITY’S INVESTMENT POLICY WAS ADOPTED.  RATES AND FEES WERE SET FOR CITY SERVICES.  2018 WAGES AND SALARIES WERE SET FOR CITY EMPLOYEES.  THERE WAS A REPORT FROM THE LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA CITIES INSURANCE TRUST.  A REPORT WAS PRESENTED ON BUILDING PERMIT ACTIVITY IN 2017.
THE WINDOM SCHOOL BOARD HELD A REGULAR MEETING THIS WEEK.  JOAN HUNTER WAS RE-ELECTED AS CHAIRPERSON.  BOARD SALARIES WERE SET WITH A 3% INCREASE FROM LAST YEAR.   MEMBERS OF THE F-F-A FLORICULTURE TEAM REPORTED ON THEIR WINNING THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE F-F-A NATIONAL CONVENTION.  THE BOARD CALLED FOR QUOTES ON STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES; QUOTES ARE DUE BY MARCH 16TH.    THE BOARD APPROVED THE HIRING OF CRYSTAL FAST AS THE HEAD VOLLEYBALL COACH FOR NEXT SEASON. 
THE WINDOM CITY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETS AT 5:30 THIS AFTERNOON IN THE SENIOR DINING ROOM AT THE WINDOM COMMUNITY CENTER.     THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE ON THE FRIENDS OF THE POOL GROUP.  THE COMMISSION WILL HEAR AN UPDATE ON THE PROJECT TO IMPROVE THE ICE-MAKING SYSTEM AT THE WINDOM CITY ARENA.  A REPORT WILL BE PRESENTED ON THE ICE SEASON.  DISCUSSION WILL BE HELD ON A POSSIBLE D-N-R GRANT OPPORTUNITY.  THE CITY MAY APPLY FOR A GRANT TO HELP DEVELOP NEW TENNIS AND PICKLE-BALL COURTS. 
A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FULDA CITY COUNCIL WAS HELD LAST WEEK.    THE COUNCIL DISCUSSED WATER RATES.  AN INCREASE IS BEING CONSIDERED, BUT NO ACTION WAS TAKEN AT THIS TIME.  THE COUNCIL APPROVED A 2% COST-OF-LIVING INCREASE FOR FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES.  DISCUSSION WAS HELD ON THE FIRE HALL AND AMBULANCE GARAGE.  THE CITY IS CONSIDERING HIRING A FIRM TO CONDUCT A FEASIBILITY STUDY.  THE FIRE AND AMBULANCE DEPARTMENTS WILL BE MEETING WITH LOCAL TOWNSHIPS IN FEBRUARY TO DISCUSS RATES FOR SERVICE.  
MORE AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES ARE BEING HELD IN THE AREA.    TODAY, A RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE WILL BE HELD AT THE BUTTERFIELD-ODIN HIGH SCHOOL IN BUTTERFIELD.  THE HOURS WILL BE FROM 12:30 UNTIL 6:30.   ALL BLOOD TYPES ARE NEEDED.  DONORS SHOULD BE AT LEAST 17-YEARS-OLD, OR 16 WITH SIGNED PARENTAL PERMISSION.  YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW IDENTIFICATION AT CHECK-IN.  FOR MORE INFORMATION ON BLOOD DONATION OPPORTUNITIES, GO ONLINE TO www.redcrossblood.org, OR CALL 1-800-733-2767. 
THE DES MOINES VALLEY HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY WILL HOLD A BOARD MEETING AT 9:00 THURSDAY MORNING IN THE CAFETERIA AT THE GOVERNMENT CENTER EAST BUILDING IN JACKSON.   ELECTION OF OFFICERS WILL BE HELD.  APPOINTMENTS WILL BE MADE TO COMMITTEES AND ADVISORY GROUPS.  THE BOARD WILL APPROVE A CONTRACT FOR FINANCIAL SERVICES.  A COST-OF-LIVING ADJUSTMENT WILL BE APPROVED.  A NEW POLICY WILL BE ADOPTED FOR THE PUBLIC HEALTH HOME-CARE SERVICE.  A WORK-SESSION WILL BE HELD LATER TO REVIEW THE AGENCY’S ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE.
